The road has been long and arduous, filled with hardship, heroism and camaraderie. Your greatest rival, your closest friends, your one true love, your trusted ally, and the one who knows your deepest secret have all gathered to compete for victory. For you, it’s not just about the prize money, the trophy, or the applause. There’s so much more at stake. Whether you come from humble beginnings or were born with a silver spoon in your mouth, these are the most important days of your life.
What will I do at the larp?
The game centers on the gathered tournament hooligans, the knights, and their entourages, all come to take part in, or simply revel in, the grand spectacle.
You play either a hooligan or a member of one of the competing teams. The hooligans are here for the excitement and the celebration, but also for love, money, fame, and the thrill of doing whatever it takes to see their knight victorious.
The entourages are tied to one of the competing knights, perhaps the Red, the Blue, or another bold and colorful champion. Together you’ll prepare for the contests, party and mingle with friends, quarrel and plot against rivals, try to impress your romantic interests, and support each other within your team.
The larp features several tournaments where you’ll cheer for and present your knight, place bets, argue over who’s truly the best, prepare your champions, and perhaps engage in a little discreet sabotage. When the contests begin, you are the roaring, booing crowd: build the tension, stir the drama, and bring the frenzy of the tournament to life!
When night falls, the grand tournament ball awaits, where a dance-off on the floor may prove just as decisive for your future as your knight’s triumph in the arena.
Is this a larp only for the knights?
No! The focus is on the group dynamics and the lives of the hooligans and the entourages. Hidden agendas, love triangles, wagers, betrayals, and activities directed toward them are central to the design. The knights will have fun anyway :)
What kind of story do we want to tell?
Our vision is a light-hearted but not silly tale of companionship, ambition, romance, and rivalry. Even though not every knight can win, the goal is comedy rather than tragedy, with happy endings even for those who fall in the final. It’s a mix of lofty knightly romance and bold street attitude; we embrace clichés, but we don’t let them rule us.
Knightly romance and anachronism
The world is a pseudo-historical Middle Ages with modern elements – about 80–90% medieval and 10–20% modern. Think black plate armor and sunglasses, ball gowns and crazy rainbow hairstyles, renaissance garb and leather jackets, walk-out music, smoke machines, and troubadours who also double as DJs. The goal is to create a world that feels medieval but where the spark of modernity always shines through.
Comedy or slapstick?
When we say “comedy,” we primarily mean the Shakespearean kind, not Dumb and Dumber. It’s absolutely fine to have fun and be funny, but concepts, scenes, or characters that are purely goofy are discouraged.
